Regenerative Futures: International Symposium by Bauhaus Earth and Built by Nature Germany

This high-level symposium will examine how regenerative materials can become a decisive lever for transforming the construction sector and addressing the global climate crisis.
The symposium will kick off with an political evening on 17 September: After a welcome address by Carsten Schneider, Federal Minister of the Environment, climate scientist Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Hans Joachim Schellnhuber will emphasise the necessity of transforming the construction sector from a climate perspective in a keynote speech. This will be followed by a panel discussion in which key framework conditions for a regenerative future of construction will be discussed with representatives from science, practice and politics. Alongside the symposium there is an exhibition on the Rebuilt Project featuring works by Dutch artist Bas Princen.
The conference on 18 September will focus on the presentation and discussion of the most important findings from the ReBuilt Regional Case Studies in Berlin-Brandenburg, Denpasar (Indonesia), Cape Town (South Africa), and Paro-Thimphu (Bhutan) as well as our quantitative Global Study.
