bauhaus earth

We are proud to share that Prof. Dr. mult. Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, the Founding Director of Bauhaus Earth, has been appointed as the new Director General of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) based in Laxenburg, Austria. He is set to commence his new role in December this year.

Hans Joachim “John” Schellnhuber will continue to play an integral role in all Bauhaus Earth activities as a founding partner, strategic advisor, and collaborator. Our entire team remains deeply appreciative of the vision and guidance John has offered over the past years, which has significantly contributed to the growth and success of Bauhaus Earth. Today, we stand strong as a 30-member interdisciplinary Think Tank and Lab based in Potsdam and Berlin, fostering global research and innovation aimed at making buildings, cities, and regions healthier, more climate-friendly and socially and environmentally regenerative.

We look forward to joining forces with IIASA and our growing global network of partners, and the prospective opportunities, resources, and expertise these alliances will bring. This will further our commitment to advancing research-informed systems change towards a built environment within planetary boundaries.

This message is shared by Prof. Dr. Philipp Misselwitz, Co-Managing Director of Bauhaus Earth, on behalf of our entire team.
