1. Introduction

The Gender Equality Plan (GEP) is a strategic document that formally recognizes the organisation’s commitment to gender equality, diversity, and inclusion. It outlines concrete objectives and priorities, paving the way for measurable actions and sustainable cultural change.

This GEP, covering the period 2025–2029, is designed to raise awareness of gender equality issues and unconscious biases within R&I organizations, in alignment with the European Commission’s priority to improve gender equality in research and innovation.

Bauhaus Earth (BE) promotes diversity across age, culture, physical ability, sexual orientation, and multilingualism, both within the team and in collaboration with external stakeholders.

2. Preparation

The structure of this GEP aligns with the five minimum areas recommended by the European Commission:

  1. Recruitment and Career Progression – promoting gender equality in selection and promotion processes.

  2. Gender Balance in Decision-Making – ensuring equitable representation in leadership and advisory roles.

  3. Training and Development – building staff awareness, competence, and engagement across the organization.

  4. Work-Life Balance and Family-Friendly Policies – supporting flexible work arrangements and parental leave.

  5. Prevention of Harassment – implementing safeguards against gender-based violence and discrimination.

Each area is addressed through both current practices and planned initiatives, ensuring a structured and measurable approach.
