global potential study on regenerative building

bauhaus earth

Bauhaus Earth conducts a global demand-supply analysis of bio-based materials as critical resources for a regenerative building sector. The project will assess and test the feasibility of the transformation of the built environment towards regional bio-based circular economies. Its main goals are (1) the creation of an empirical basis for potential matching of supply and demand, and (2) the development of policy-relevant scenarios for the transformation of human settlements based on regenerative building strategies. The interdisciplinary research team will generate data for three different time frames (2040, 2070 and 2100), as well as for global, regional, and urban/city region scales. This ambitious potential study is carried out in collaboration with the world-leading Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.
